"Community" is an American sitcom created by Dan Harmon ("Monster House", "The Sarah Silverman Program"). Slimy lawyer Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) is suspended after his college degree is deemed invalid by the state bar association and he is forced to go back to school if he ever wants to be fully accepted to the bar. The series focuses on Jeff's life as he attends Greendale Community College, Colorado, and meets the assorted staff and students there. He instantly falls for Britta Perry (Gillian Jacobs), a female student trying to get her life back on track, and he tolerates the life lessons he is taught by the bigoted and ageing Pierce Hawthorne (Chevy Chase). In Jeff's Spanish class he meets film student Abed Nadir (Danny Pudi), divorced mother Shirley Bennett (Yvette Nicole Brown), high school football star Troy Barnes (Donald Glover) and straight A student Annie Edison (Alison Brie). Among the staff there is unhinged Spanish instructor Ben Chang (Ken Jeong); psychology professor Ian Duncan (John Oliver), and Dean Pelton (Jim Rash), who wants his school to be more like a real university. It premiered on Viva in 2010.
