The second season of the hit HBO Max comedy series begins later this week.

'Hacks' season two is getting a companion podcast series on Apple, Spotify and wherever else you get your podcast fix.

The comedy series, lead by Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder, continues in the US this weekend, following the hectic life of stand-up Las Vegas comic Deborah Vance who pairs up with comedy writer Ava in order to spruce up her routine. This time around, the cast will hit the open road as the comic and her entourage tour around the country.

'The Official Hacks Podcast' launches this weekend in line with the release of the new season, and will be the perfect companion to listen to after you've laughed your way through each new episode of the series. In each podcast episode, 'Hacks' creators Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs and Jen Statsky will chat about stories from the set, and what exactly goes on in their writer's room.

The creators will also be joined by a special guest host each week, featuring either some of the cast from the show or a famous fan of the series. Hannah Einbinder (who plays Ava), D’Arcy Carden (Janet from 'The Good Place') and comedians Luenell, Angela Gibbs, Susie Essman and Margaret Cho (the latter two will appear as guest stars this season) will help to unpack each episode.

The second season of 'Hacks' sees the two main stars return alongside Kaitlin Olson, Poppy Liu, Megan Stalter, Jonathan Sibilly, Mark Indelicato and Rose Abdoo. New faces this time around include Laurie Metcalf, Martha Kelly and Ming-Na Wen.

Prime Video owns the rights to 'Hacks' here in Ireland, with a release date for season two yet to be announced. Hopefully, we won't have to wait too much longer until we can catch what looks like a hilarious continuation of the series. 'Hacks' season two begins on HBO Max this Friday, May 13.
