We've just passed the four-year wedding anniversary of Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin in the event that revolutionised wedding veils and shocked some Jelena (Justin and Selena) stans.

Hailey Bieber is the latest celebrity to take a seat on Alex Cooper's bouclé couch for the 'Call Her Daddy' podcast. The main promotional aspect of the entire recording was for Hailey Bieber to finally have her say on her husband's famously controversial relationship with his ex Selena Gomez.

Over the years, Hailey Bieber has struggled with the fandom who shipped 'Jelena' — Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber — with many of them promoting gossip online about Hailey herself and even going so far as to chant "Selena" at the married couple at public appearances.

In the latest 'CHD' podcast, Hailey opens up to Cooper about how it has affected her; Cooper addressed questions that have been swirling around online and in the mind of 'Jelena' fans for years, "Were you ever with Justin romantically at the same time as her?".

Adamantly refusing the backhanded accusation perpetuated by spectators, Hailey explained that once Justin and Selena were completely done and dusted in 2018, she finally got together and got engaged with her now husband, although she says, "I had been involved with [Justin] since I was 18".

She said, "I would just never do that. I was raised better than that" and continued, "I think there are situations where you can still have back and fourth with someone, but even that was not the situation. I can say period, point blank, that I was never with him when he was in a relationship with anybody. That’s the end of it".

Selena and Justin's relationship was notoriously on-again, off-again and Hailey acknowledges that he made the right decision by moving away from that relationship and dynamic, "I think it was the best thing for him to move on and be engaged and get married and move on with his life in that way".

She expands, "A lot of the hate comes from like ‘oh you stole him’, and I guess that comes from the fact that they wished he ended up with someone else. And that’s fine, you can wish that all you want, but that’s just not the case".

This podcast comes swiftly after Selena Gomez's announcement of her upcoming documentary about her mental health journey 'My Mind + Me', so when news of Hailey's sit-down broke, fans began to wonder whether this move was preemptive damage control on the part of Bieber. Who knows, right?
