It looks like the 'Powerpuff Girls' pilot has worked out as something of a mess. However they're not scrapping it entirely, as the debut episode of the reboot will now be re-shot.

The news also comes off the back of the script for the 'Powerpuff Girls' pilot leaking earlier this week.

There was some surprisingly adult content in the dialogue.

In one scene, Blossum threatened to leak Buttercup's nude photos and interrupted her sister's marathon sex session.

One of the lines in the script was "Life, is one big hate boner."

So yeah, we're getting very far from the animated Cartoon Network original...

The reboot is being produced by CW and the network's chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz said he hadn't seen any articles about the script for the 'Powerpuff Girls' pilot leaking.

He also explained why they'd decided to rework the premiere.

"The reason we do pilots is, sometimes things miss," Pedowitz said. "We believe in the cast and in [writers Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier] and [executive producer Greg Berlanti] and studio Warner Bros. In this case, the pilot didn’t work.

"Because we see enough elements in there, we wanted to give it another shot. It may have felt a little too campy and not rooted in reality. You learn things when you test things out.

"We felt, 'Let's take a step back and go back to the drawing board.' This is a powerful property, it engaged a lot of interest, and we want to get it right."

The series sees Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron and Yana Perrault, play Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, respectively. Donald Faison of 'Scrubs' and 'Clueless' fame has been cast as Professor Utonium.

The 'Powerpuff Girls' pilot was shot in Atlanta. The same cast and writers will be attached for the new pilot.
