If you haven't been following the NXIVM / Allison Mack story, don't worry - there'll be a glossy TV series made out of pretty soon.

In short, Smallville alum Allison Mack has been arrested and charged with sex trafficking in relation to a cult to which she supposedly tried to recruit Emma Watson to and that fellow Smallville alum Kristin Kreuk had to deny membership of owing to a major investigation by the New York Times and the FBI.

That's not short at all, is it? Ah well.

So, Annapurna Television have bought the rights to the New York Times article on the story and have lined up Westworld alum Shannon Woodward as an executive producer and probably to star in it as well. Annapurna's primarily known for its film work, having executive produced the likes of Kathryn Bigelow's Detroit, Spike Jonze's Her, PT Anderson's Phantom Thread, and lots of buzzy awards circuit films you've probably heard of.

When this gets to screens hasn't been confirmed as of yet, but it'll likely be within a year or two as the story itself is still literally unfolding before our eyes. Mack and the cult leader Keith Raniere have been charged and a trial date hasn't even been set, so there's still plenty of way to go before it reaches any kind of conclusion.
