There has been an argument to cull 'The X Factor' once and for all in recent years, but it seems that ITV is determined to keep the show going in some way.

Their latest endeavour is a celebrity version of the show, and the line-up has just been revealed.

Many of those competing in the show - which will air in October - are former reality TV stars, with several 'Love Island' contestants taking part.

Wes Nelson, Samira Mighty, Zara McDermott and Eyal Booker will form a supergroup called The Islanders. Four other groups will feature, including Ben Foden and two of his rugby playing cohorts, Thom Evans and Levi Davis (as Try Star). Jeremy Edwards will team up with 'Strictly''s Brendan Cole (as Cole & Edwards), and CBBC's Max & Harvey will also compete, as will a group of social media influencers (Sofia, Alondra, Laura, Wendii and Natalie) as V5.

The Unders category will feature Kevin McHale (Artie from 'Glee'), Jonny Labey (Paul from 'Eastenders'), reality star Megan McKenna (TOWIE), actress Olivia Olson ('Love, Actually') and model Hayley Hasselhoff.

The Overs category will feature Ricki Lake (yes, really), journalist Martin Bashir, Jenny Ryan ('The Chase') and actress Victoria Ekanoye (Angie from 'Coronation Street').

Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger will return as judges, while Dermot O'Leary will host. The celebrity edition will run in place the usual series, which is being put out to pasture for a year.

It might be 'watch-through-your-eyes' TV, but will we watch, nevertheless? Hell yeah.

The exact broadcast date is TBC but watch this space.
