There's jumping off the deep end, and then there's 'getting married to someone you've been dating for two weeks'.

That's just what Ben Foden - rugby player, and ex-husband of Saturdays singer Una Healy - has done.

If you'll recall, Foden's marriage to the Tipperary native broke up last summer following reports of his infidelity. The family (they have two kids, Aoife and Tadhg) were preparing to move to the US, where Foden has started playing rugby for Rugby United New York. However, Foden made the move alone and Healy is now in a new relationship with former Limerick hurler David Breen.

It seems that Foden has moved on romantically, too, as he tied the knot with American businesswoman Jackie Belanoff Smith on a yacht in the wealthy resort of Nantucket at the weekend.

He confirmed the news with a lengthy post on Instagram that spoke about his 'turbulent' year and how many people will think he's a 'bad person'. "But I met a girl who seriously swept me off my feet and in a time of hardship showed me love, a deep devoted love," he wrote. "People will say we are mad or crazy or even fools, as @snackyjax and I had only been dating seriously for a little over 2 weeks before deciding to get married. But when someone like her comes in to your life, why would I wait?"

He added that he had received the thumbs-up from his 'beautiful ex-wife' Una Healy, "who I love even more for her blessing", and that his new wife is "the greatest human being I’ve ever come across - she’s beautiful inside and out, intelligent, charming, funny, generous, kind, gentle, energetic the list goes on."

That's a lot to learn about someone in two weeks, but sure what do we know...
