It looks more likely than ever that Laura Whitemore could be the presenter of 'Winter Love Island' in January.

As we reported yesterday, Laura is the bookies favourite with 11/8 odds to host the next edition of the reality series.

The show's regular host Caroline Flack announced yesterday morning that she would be stepping down following her assault charge last Friday.

The latest has it that Laura Whitemore has already been approached by ITV bosses about the presenter job.

According to The Sun, they met just hours after Flack quit. (in fairness, 'Winter Love Island' kicks off January 8th, so they'd want to get a move on finding her replacement)

The show's narrator Iain Stirling has actually been dating Whitmore since 2017.

An insider said: “It’s an amazing job, every TV presenter in Britain wants it, so of course Laura was open to speaking to bosses about it.

“She’s already had a chat about it – as soon as Caroline quit, they needed to sign someone up ASAP. Laura already knows the production crew from when she goes out to visit Iain on location, and bosses from her previous jobs on ITV.”

Whitemore and Flack have been friends for years. They both hosted the 'I’m A Celebrity' spin off show at different points, and both competed on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

Laura Whitmore also presented 'Survival Of The Fittest', a 'Love Island'-like series, in January 2018.

'Winter Love Island' debuts 8 January 2020.
