My God, we weren't half waiting forever for this news, weren't we just? First off it took AN AGE for the two leads to be cast, with every actor who had even so much as taken a breath in Hollywood considered at some point for the roles. Finally though, as we know, our own Colin Farrell was cast and will star alongside Vince Vaughn, but just who will be joining them?

It's finally been confirmed by HBO that it will be The Notebook star Rachel McAdams as one of the lead females, which has been speculated about this long time, but now it's official. She will play Ani Bezzerides, a Ventura County Sheriff’s detective with 'uncompromising ethics'. While True Blood's Riley Smith will be playing her boyfriend.

Joining her will be English actress Kelly Reilly for a key role as wife of the crime boss played by Vince Vaughn, you may know Kelly from the the TV series Black Box as well as for her role in 'Calvary' alongside Brendan Gleeson.

While Taylor Kitsch also announced last month that he had locked down a role in the second season of the hit show as Paul Woodrugh, who is described as 'a war veteran and motorcycle officer for the California Highway Patrol on the run from a difficult past'.

HBO yesterday said that production of the eight-episode season has already begun in California, so now all we need is an air date please? Although who knows how long we will have to wait for that announcement.

I'm tellin' ya, this better be worth it.
