If you happen to follow 'The Wire' creator David Simon on Twitter, you'll no doubt be aware of how direct he is in feelings on US President Donald Trump.

Over the weekend, the President decided to launch a racist attack on Elijah Cummings, who represents Maryland's 7th congressional district which includes half of Baltimore City. Trump described Cummings' district as "the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States," and referred to it as far more dangerous the southern border of the US.

Throughout the weekend, Trump launched repeated attacks on Elijah Cummings, who is the chair of the House Oversight Committee, which is currently investigating Donald Trump on any number of issues and probably explains why he's tweeting about him constantly.

While Elijah Cummings and other Democrats have responded with dignified responses, 'The Wire' creator David Simon didn't. Take a look.

Throughout the weekend, Simon's account has been bombarded by Trump supporters (or bots, who knows), but Simon - who still lives in West Baltimore - didn't seem remotely bothered by any of it.

As for Donald Trump, he's still tweeting about Elijah Cummings and responding to criticism that his comments on Baltimore were racist in nature, so no surprises there.
