Given how popular 'Daisy Jones & The Six' was with readers, it really was only a matter of time before the novel was going to be turned into a TV series or movie.

So it goes that Amazon are now taking on the adaptation, and have just this week confirmed two of the leads for the series. Riley Keough, who just recently appeared in Netflix's so-so 'Earthquake Bird', will play the titular character of Daisy Jones, while indie actor Camila Morrone will play the also-named Camile Dunne.

The novel, set in the '70s rock scene of Los Angeles, follows a fictional band that rose to success in the heyday of Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin - but then broke up at their height after major interpersonal issues. Written by Taylor Jenkins Reid, the novel was only released earlier this year and has already become hugely popular.

Meanwhile, 'Mulan' director Niki Caro has been lined up for the series, while Reese Witherspoon will be acting as executive producer over the whole series. There's no air date currently set, but given how buzzy the novel has been, this will most likely see the light of day some time soon in 2020.
