In the run up to Brendan Gleeson's hosting duties for Saturday Night Live, the Irish actor is preparing by absolutely shredding the set with sick skateboard tricks.

As if there wasn't anything else the iconic actor couldn't do. In the short 1-minute clip, Gleeson makes it look like he belongs at Central Bank on a Saturday afternoon. Skating through the iconic SNL studios, the 'Banshees of Inisherin' star grinds away from the grasp of security.

It's Gleeson's first time hosting the legendary skit show, but, by the looks of it, he's well up for the challenge. He'll be joined by musical guest Willow.

His 'Saturday Night live' appearance will see his host a couple of weeks before 'Banshees' hits cinemas on October 21. The Martin McDonagh project recently received a 13-minute standing ovation at Venice Film Festival.

Gleeson's turn on 'SNL' sees him join the list of other Irish stars who have walked the floors of Studio 8H at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, including Saoirse Ronan, Gabriel Byrne, Liam Neeson and of course Colin Farrell.

Gleeson and Farrell star alongside one another once again in the upcoming 'Banshees', which sees the two play old friends who have a sudden falling out.

Director McDonagh said recently, "I just wanted to write a sort of simple sad breakup story between two blokes, weirdly. And I guess part of it was always wanting to get Colin and Brendan back together since 'In Bruges'."

The Dubliner is a man in demand lately, with the news of his joining the cast of Todd Phillip's 'Joker' follow-up musical 'Folie á Deux'. The 67-year-old will star alongside Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga in the upcoming film.
