Batman fever has gripped the globe following the release of Matt Reeve's critically acclaimed 'The Batman'.
But Robert Pattinson isn't the only one to be taking on the mantle of the Dark Knight. Warner Bros. and Spotify are teaming up for a brand new audio adventure releasing on May 3.
'Black Panther' star Winston Duke stars as Bruce Wayne in the podcast series, but not as we usually know him. Instead of a billionaire playboy, Wayne is actually a forensic pathologist working at Gotham hospital.
The podcast's synopsis is as follows: "When audiences meet Bruce Wayne he is a forensic pathologist, working in the bowels of Gotham Hospital and tasked with examining the victims of The Harvester, a gruesome serial killer preying on Gotham’s citizens. Not only will the Super-Hero be forced to face his own mental demons, but he will also have to overcome them in order to save the citizens of Gotham as his alter-ego Batman."
Joining Duke are Jason Isaacs as Alfred, Gina Rodriguez as Barbara Gordon, Sam Witwer as The Harvester, Hasan Minhaj as The Riddler, Lance Reddick as Thomas Wayne, Toks Olagundoye as Martha Wayne, John Rhys-Davies as Dr. Hunter, Ashly Burch as Vicki Vale, and Jessica Marie Garcia as Renee Montoya.
The series was written by David S. Goyer, who worked as a writer on the Cristopher Nolan 'Dark Knight' trilogy. He also worked on 'Blade', 'Man of Steel' and 'Batman vs. Superman'.
As well as the original English language script, there will also be versions for audiences in Brazil, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, and Mexico.
'Batman Unburied' premieres exclusively on Spotify on May 3. Listen to the trailer here.
