Award ceremonies in 2020 have generally been pretty strange affairs, with no live audiences and most of the nominees livestreaming their performances or appearances remotely.

However, the American Music Awards took place last night and pulled out all the stops - at least, in terms of pulling in big names.

While Taylor Swift took home the gong for Artist of the Year, she was a no-show at the event because she's busy re-recording her back catalogue.

Instead, Billie Eilish was the star attraction, performing her recently-released new single 'Therefore I Am' live for the first time, with her brother/producer/co-writer Finneas on guitar.

K-Pop boyband BTS also made an appearance, as well as The Weeknd - who rather bizarrely teamed up with soft jazz icon Kenny G for a performance of 'In Your Eyes' as well as 'Save Your Tears', as they walked along a bridge in Los Angeles.

Justin Bieber played two songs, 'Lonely' and 'Holy', while Dua Lipa performed 'Levitating' from the Royal Albert Hall. Meghan Thee Stallion, J-Lo, Bebe Rexha & Doja Cat and were amongst the other stars to play live.
