With GamerFest returning to Dublin this weekend at the RDS, the organisers have revealed what gamers can expect at this weekend's festival of gaming.

With everything from 'Multiversus', esports, YouTubers, tabletop gaming and 'FIFA' tournaments on offer, we've picked what should be on gamers' eternity ahead of this weekend's event.

With so much on offer at GamerFest, we've compiled a list of the 5 things you must check at out GamerFest this weekend.

GamerFest is a one-of-a-kind gaming experience not seen anywhere else in Ireland, with everything from the latest VR technology available to try out as well as appearances from industry heavyweights.

The event is taking place this Saturday, October 22nd, and Sunday, October 23rd at the RDS, and limited tickets are still available at gamerfest.ie.

'FIFA' tournaments

Fans of 'FIFA' will want to check out the FIFA Zone and sampling the latest game in the franchise, or better yet, win prize money for your skills.

With the new 'FIFA' already out for a few weeks and the football season in full swing, now is the perfect time to put your skills to the test.

GamerFest is hosting both a 'FIFA 23' freeplay area for visitors as well as a 'FIFA' tournament with prize money awaiting the finalists on the eir Live Stage.

Virtual Reality

If you want to experience the very cutting edge of what video game technology has to offer, you're in luck.

The VR gaming specialists at Zero Latency Dublin will also be in attendance with their VR technology, with visitors to the event able to utilise VR headsets and explore incredible VR gaming worlds.

VR has come a long way since its primitive state of the 1990s, and thanks to Zero Latency Dublin, you won't believe your eyes at how far the technology has come.

Also available through the weekend is HADO. An augmented reality (AR) sport, HADO puts the power of energy balls and shields in the hands of players on a real-life court!

With this year's event serving as the first in-person event since 2019, GamerFest has announced a brand new GamerFest Lifetime Achievement Award.

For its inaugural year, the recipients of the award will be John and Brenda Romero for the incredible contributions they have made to the gaming industry both globally and in Ireland.

The chance to see gaming industry legends in the flesh is not to be missed.

The award will be presented to John and Brenda on the eir Live Stage followed by an in-depth chat about their incredible careers and success.

With 'Doom' turning 30 next year, John Romero is sure to be reflecting on the remarkable success that has led to him receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Some of the biggest streamers in Ireland will also be present at the event, and you can meet your favourite creators such as the wildly popular SeaPeeKay, Irish TikTok sensations Ryan Mar, MrPaddy Murphy, and CatastopiClarawr, and streamers The Gara Show, AntiTinkerBell, DeeBeeGeek, FunkyTown49, GibsonCasts and many more in the Creator Lounge.

Board Games

While video games will be the main focus at GamerFest, the more traditional pen and paper kind will also be on display at the event.

Games of the non-digital variety will be making their way to GamerFest, with Dakota Irish, the world-renowned provider of premium, high-quality, and artisanal accessories for tabletop gaming enthusiasts and dice collectors attending the event.

Dakota Irish will bring with them a selection of their exceptional quality products and will be hosting the brand new Tabletop Zone at the event where visitors can play 'D&D' over multiple one-shot campaigns hosted by Ireland’s most creative DMs as well as other tabletop games.

Esports galore

With esports tipped to become the next big thing in the world of video games, GamerFest is the perfect chance to see what all the fuss is about.

Riot Games has partnered with the event, with a 'Valorant' tournament on offer for budding esports players.

The GamerFest x Valorant Beacon Tournament will act as a pathway for Irish Valorant esports players to the Northern European Regional League and the Valorant Esports Ecosystem.
