Roscommon Lamb Festival celebrates all that is best in County Roscommon. The festival opens at a special sheep sale in Roscommon Mart and continues through the weekend to finish with a 10 kilometres walk in aid of the Carers Association on the bank holiday Monday.

In between, the programme is packed with food, heritage, craft, farming, walking, cycling, kayaking and angling events. Many of these events take place in different locations around the county with the marquee in Roscommon town square being the festival's focal point. Annual highlights: are the best of "Roscommon Food Night" with farmers, restaurants and catering businesses showcasing local produce with a celebrity chef cooking lamb dishes on Friday night. "The Roscommon Lamb BBQ Brazilian Style" on Saturday night, is a great family night out with wonderful food and good music.

Wool crafts such as spinning, weaving, knitting, dying and felting are demonstrated and displayed in the "wool craft village". Sunday sees our "international sheep dog trials" and a massive "family fun day" in Loughnaneane Park. This includes a chance to taste Roscommon lamb cooked by chefs from many different ethnic groups living in County Roscommon at our global kitchen marquee. Children can enjoy the pet lamb, Bo Peep and Boy Blue competitions and many other attractions.
