Ripper Street
2012"Ripper Street" is a period drama initially set in April 1889, six months after the last Jack the Ripper killing. Police officers at H Division hope the reign of terror in Whitechapel has come to an end, but their wishful thinking is short-lived when a woman is found brutally murdered. One-time H Division boss Chief Insp Frederick Abberline (Clive Russell) thinks Jack has returned, but the precinct's new master, Insp Edmund Reid (Matthew Macfadyen), suspects a different evil at work. Reid is assisted by the ever loyal Sgt Bennett Drake (Jerome Flynn) and former US Army surgeon Capt Homer Jackson (Adam Rothenberg). It premiered on BBC One in January 2013.

After a locomotive disaster, Reid's iron grip on 'H' Division begins to unravel.
In 1897, Reid has given up his detective work and lives in Hampton-on-Sea with Matilda. When his old friend Isaac is accused of murder, he is drawn back to Whitechapel to investigate. Meanwhile Drake is now head inspector of Whitechapel and still employs Jackson who has given up his drinking and gambling in order to save money to free Susan from prison.
Returning to a dark secret they all share and to a Whitechapel terrorised by an all too familiar horror, Series Five sees the show’s heroes take on a serial killer with subhuman desires, but a superhuman ability to avoid being apprehended.
