Hold on to your petticoats and get ready for more mystery and mayhem on the streets of London. Ripper Street is returning to our screens for a second series.

Matthew Macfadyen, Jerome Flynn and Adam Rothenberg may be still tearin' it up down Whitechapel way in series one, which is still showing every Sunday night on the Beeb, but bosses are so impressed with the show's performance that they've already said they want more.

We're big fans of Ripper Street, not least because the whole thing was filmed here in Dublin. Yep, the gang spent 19 weeks filming in Clancy Barracks in the capital last summer. Element Pictures, Tiger Aspect and Lookout Point co-produced the series. It still isn't clear what's happening on the Irish side of things as regards the second series, but an announcement is expected in the coming days.

In the meantime, jolly good show old chaps!
