Looks like Ripper Street has done what so many TV dramas can't, and come back from the grave of axed TV shows. Amazon has partnered with the BBC to revive the show, which was cancelled in December after two seasons due to poor ratings.

Amazon’s Prime Instant Video has acquired U.K. subscription streaming rights to the show so will stream the third series from there, before screening it on BBC1 a few months later. Looks like this streaming TV shows business is most certainly the way of the future now.

The show will begin filming again in May - here's hoping they return to their previous shooting location, which was none other then Dublin!

Let the Matthew Macfadyden spotting begin.
