The first two series of 'The White Lotus' have been huge hits, so the pressure is on for the third installment - and now, its creator Mike White has spilled some details for fans.

As we previously heard, the third season will be set in Thailand after the first (Hawaii) and second (Italy), with White claiming that it will be 'supersized' in comparison.

"It’s going to be a supersized ‘White Lotus','' he told EW. "It’s going to be longer, bigger, crazier. I don’t know what people will think, but I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that’s a good thing … I’m super excited about the content of the season."

That said, it looks like fans may be waiting a while for S3, as the writers' and actors' strike has seriously impacted the timeline. White, in fact, is not yet finished the scripts for the season, while casting has not yet begun. However, we do know that Natasha Rothwell, who played Belinda (the resort's spa manager who was burned by Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) in Season 1, will return.

"I'm seriously finishing scripts; still waiting to be able to cast," said White. "If the SAG strike isn’t resolved soon, then yeah, we’d have to push again because the show has a new cast every season, so there’s lots of parts to cast... I’m more than eager to get going."

Thankfully, as we learned this morning, the SAG-Aftra strike has finally ended - leaving films and TV productions ready to resume work ASAP - although it's likely to be 2025 before we see Season 3.

We do know, however, that the third season of 'The White Lotus' will take a different slant in terms of its theme, with White previously saying: "I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus."
