It's been a few Sundays since last we met to discuss The Week in Telly, but what with Chris Pine and Benedict Cumberbatch spicing up the sofa on Graham Norton, Pat Rabbitte yapping on about the TV licence, and Two And A Half men losing another fella, we felt it was high time to return to the fold. So, without further delay, here's our review of the week that was.

Five Things That Got Us Talking
5. If they're doing another Big Reunion, they should call these Irish bands

We're hoping for a Bellefire comeback. And failing that, The Carter Twins...

4. Pat Rabbitte's plans for the TV licence and your laptop

Firm but fair? Or drawing blood from a stone? Pat's musings about a broadcasting charge got everyone talking on ye olde Booke of Face.

3. Dermot Whelan waves bye bye to Republic of Telly
Your TV Ed was rather sad when Dermo tweeted his resignation earlier this week. It was worse than that time when Brian 'with a y that eventually changed back to an i' McFadden broke his promise to never say goodbye: And to think, you swore it all over again McFadden...

2. Two and Half Men is another man down
Did Angus T Jones get the boot for his rather, err, religious outbursts? Or is the half-man just too 'whole'?

1. Keith Hanley 'baggin' The Voice of Ireland
If you weren't wondering who would win, you were tweeting up a storm about the outcome. Cue cries of 'Kelly Mongan was robbed' on the oul 'social meeeeja'. Has she had the baby yet?

Our Top Five TV Moments

5. Fifty Shades of Fair City

We'd love to know what they put in the water in Montrose this week...

4. Moni Tivony on The Voice UK
Essex's self-proclaimed ginger Jew (and the UK's answer to Borris boy Pat Byrne) was absolutely flawless as he delivered Bob Marley's No Woman No Cry. Now if only we could get the likes of him on this side of the water, wha?

3. Kathryn Thomas and Eoghan McDermott 'Dirty Dancing' on The Voice of Ireland

If she wasn't shaking her tailfeather when she wasn't supposed to, Kathryn Thomas was engaging in some Dirty Dancing with her co-host. And her gobsmacked her. Literally.

2. Benedict Cumberbatch
does Graham Norton. Perfectly.
Just watch it.

1. You Know You're Irish When... you're sad to say so long to
Republic of Telly
We were sad to say bye bye to Republic of Telly for another season on Monday, but the gang certainly went out with an almighty bang, with another fantastic compilation.

Three Things We Learned From D'telly
This Week
1. Ray off Fair City can not, as he claims, do a mean Tom Jones.

2. Tom Fletcher from McFly keeps Woody and Buzz on the nightstand. We have All Star Mr and Mrs to thank for that revelation.

3. Kim Cattrall was a rather hilarious looking Star Trek villain.

The Best of The Rest
Martin Freeman
says John Watson won't disappear over the Misty Mountains cold

Allen Leech has this to say about Downton Season 4
Diana 'the claw' Vickers will be back rather soon
Domhnall Gleeson makes a rather fine Brody the Younger

The 'Cumberbitches' and 'Pine Nuts' take over Graham Norton
