A full-length trailer for 'The Comey Rule' has arrived.
The Showtime series sees Brendan Gleeson play President Donald Trump. It's been getting a lot of buzz since the first image and teaser trailer dropped for the series.
Trump faces off former FBI Director James Comey (played by Jeff Daniels, Emmy winner for HBO political series 'The Newsroom') in the two-part event series.
According to the synopsis, the show "tells the story of two powerful men, whose strikingly different ethics and loyalties put them on a collision course."
'The Comey Rule' was adapted for the screen from Comey’s memoir 'A Higher Loyalty'.
Oscar-nominated screenwriter Billy Ray ('Captain Phillips', 'Shattered Glass') penned the script and also directed the series.
Gleeson is no stranger to playing major political figures. He previously earned an Emmy for portraying Winston Churchill in 'Into the Storm'.
The ensemble cast also includes Holly Hunter as former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates, Michael Kelly as former FBI Director Andrew McCabe, Jennifer Ehle as Patrice Comey, Scoot McNairy as former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, and Jonathan Banks as former National Intelligence Director James Clapper.
It will premiere on Sunday, September 27th. Its second episode airs on Monday, September 28th. No word yet regarding an airing on Irish television.
