In yet more TV reboot news, hit 80s shows 'Cagney & Lacey' and 'Magnum PI' are set to make a return to the small screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, both have made it onto a list of six pilots ordered by CBS this week.

'Cagney & Lacey' followed two female police officers in New York City and starred Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless while 'Magnum PI' was one of the first major roles of Tom Selleck and saw him play private eye Thomas Magnum in Hawaii.

'Westworld' writer Bridget Carpenter is set to write the 'Cagney & Lacey' pilot, which will this time be about two female police detectives in Los Angeles.

'Hawaii Five-O' writers Lenkov and Eric Guggenheim will write the 'Magnum PI' reboot which is described as an update of the classic TV series and like the original, it will be set in Hawaii. It follows Thomas Magnum, a decorated ex-Navy SEAL who, upon returning home from Afghanistan, repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator.

The news comes after the announcement that a 'Murphy Brown' reboot was also on the way to CBS while The CW has announced a 'Charmed' reboot.
