One week after her shock departure from the ITV show, we finally know why the 'Love Island' star packed her bags in such a hurry.

The reason for Olivia Attwood's incredibly quick exit from 'I'm A Celebrity' has been revealed, a moment which the TV personality described as "scary".

Just 24 hours after beginning her jungle journey last weekend, and after a very successful Bushtucker trial, the 31-year-old was removed from camp as a precautionary measure due to routine "medical checks" which were performed on each of the contestants. No real reason was given at the time, and ITV said in a statement that Attwood would reveal the news in her own time.

The Daily Mail were able to get the exclusive story from the reality television star - who said that her recent blood test proved that she was "dangerously anaemic".

Despite saying she was "feeling fine," the production team had to rush her to the hospital as she had low levels of sodium and potassium. She told the publication: "I was so scared. I was like: 'What the hell is wrong with me?' They couldn't give me an answer, they just told me that they had to get me to the hospital immediately."

The journey to the hospital from camp is 40 minutes, which Attwood described as "the longest journey ever" as, at the time, she didn't know what was wrong with her. She said: "I didn't know what to think. I was wondering if I had picked up a virus, was I pregnant, all of these things were going through my head. It was absolutely frightening."

The ITV production team decided that the star would have to leave the competition immediately, even though she "had a clean bill of health" from the hospital. She said that the ITV team "feared my levels might drop and it could be detrimental to my health and wellbeing".

She said of their decision: "I'm not a crier but I started to cry. It was so emotional. I was heartbroken and gutted."

Even though Olivia Attwood had to make a quick exit from 'I'm A Celebrity', the show must continue - and controversial late inductee Matt Hancock has been the butt of the joke since he entered with Seann Walsh. Taking on every single Bushtucker trial since his arrival, last night's episode saw him be locked in a "House of Horrors" for 11 minutes searching for stars - which saw him come face to face with a room of very angry snakes.

'I'm A Celebrity' continues tonight on Virgin Media One at 9 pm.
