Louis Theroux is finally returning to our screens with a series of documentaries based in Los Angeles where he’s been living for about a year.

According to The Guardian, Theroux’s new show will air on BBC 2 and focus on the “most extreme” parts of LA.

"I've been living in Los Angeles with my family for the past year or so. It seemed a chance to explore different sides of a single place, by spending longer immersed in stories and going deeper with the subjects," said Theroux.

He added, "I have a love-hate relationship with the city. It embodies the best and worst of America. It combines wealth and glamour with social breakdown and deep neglect. We've concentrated on stories that take us into the extremes of life and the extreme parts of one of the world's great cities."

Theroux recently appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience and shot the shit with Joe for well over 2 hours. It’s interesting to hear him being interviewed. He gradually turns the conversation around on Rogan and almost begins interviewing him. He also mentions the LA docs, and mentions he wanted to make one with Irish travellers that didn’t quite work out. It’s a great listen/watch if you have the time.

Regardless, any new Theroux is good Theroux. The man is fantastic at what he does. We will see the films later this year.
