The character of Jon Snow has gained a plethora of admirers over the course of 'Game of Thrones', and they will likely be upset to hear that Kit Harington intends to get as far away from the character as possible after the show ends.
The actor spoke to Entertainment Weekly about his career plans post-Game of Thrones, which will include a physical transformation.
He said: “I’d like to step away and enjoy the obscurity, cut my hair, make myself less recognizable as the character, and go do and some other things with a completely new look and tone.”
No, not his beautiful hair!
But yes, Harington is indeed planning to go with a “short-short” hairstyle after the HBO fantasy series wraps. He has played the character Jon Snow across eight seasons.
On the bright side, he has doubts as to whether he wants to get rid of Snow's iconic beard or not.
“The beard will be harder to get rid of — I quite like the beard,” he said. “I like having the long hair and beard both, but it will be like ritualistic thing. I can’t go into my next role looking the same. This role was brilliant, but I’ll need to get rid of Jon Snow.”
While she appears to have wrapped, EW reports that Harington is still filming.
Another co-star, Sophie Turner, got a tattoo that seems to imply the fate of the Stark house in the series finale.
‘Game of Thrones’ will return for its final season in 2019.
