Emilia Clarke, who would be better-known as Daenerys Targaryen on ‘Game of Thrones’, has posted what appears to be a final goodbye to the series that launched her and so many of her co-stars’ careers.

Clarke shared a post on Instagram yesterday that implied that she has completed shooting her final scenes, though it remains unclear if production on the show has wrapped entirely.

At the very least, it would seem that her time working in Northern Ireland, which provided the majority of locations for the show for its entire running length, is through.

She captioned the post: “Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade. It’s been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I’d be able to live and the family I’ll never stop missing #lastseasonitis”

Her co-stars Jason Momoa, who played on-screen husband Khal Drogo back in season 1 (and stars in the upcoming Aquaman), as well as John Bradley, who plays Samwell Tarly, responded, as did Lena Headey, aka Cersei Lannister:

Emilia Clarke previously said that her final Game of Thrones scenes 'f**ked her up' while in an interview for her new film ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’, she told us everything she legally can about the final season.

Earlier today, ‘Game of Thrones’ star Sophie Turner talked about how the storyline for her character in the show, Sansa Stark, reflects the #MeToo movement.

‘Game of Thrones’ will air its eighth and final season on HBO sometime in April 2019.
