Let's face it, Ed Sheeran can do no wrong these days, if he's not making children's dreams come true on The Late Late Toy Show, he's saving lives with those catchy songs of his. Okay we made up the last part.
The point is, he's bullet proof. So if the lad wants to get behind the wheel and race a car around a track on television, let him! He can't drive? So what! Ed Sheeran does what Ed Sheeran WANTS!
In case you are worried though, they are letting him drive an automatic version of the usual Vauxhall Astra, which will be a lot easier in fairness.
And he also won't be the first star to take on the track without a driving license. In 2003, Johnny Vegas raced it with L plates, and Jack Whitehall also took part with an automatic last year.
We somehow still doubt that Ed will manage to top the leader board though, with Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul still at number one. But that was just an excuse to mention Aaron Paul because he's in Dublin and we interviewed him on Monday. Shameless, we know.
