There's a bit of good news for Alan Carr fans this morning, as Channel 4 have just handed the Chatty Man a two-year contract extension. That means he'll be taking over our TV screens until at least 2015.

Alan's signed an exclusive deal with the station, meaning that he'll be on hand to provide us with Channel 4 shows, Chatty Man or no Chatty Man, for the foreseeable future. Guess it's not too hard to commit when you're being offered somewhere in the region of £4 million to stay. At least that's what The Mirror says a source told them.

"I'm ecstatic - I love being on Channel 4 where I can be myself and let my hair down... what's left of it", Carr said in a statement released this morning. It's so strange to think himself and Justin Lee Collins started out together at the channel on The Friday Night Project, isn't it?

Channel 4's Head of Entertainment, Justin Gorman, said the bigwigs at the station are "chuffed" that Alan has chosen to stay on. "Alan embodies what is the heart of Channel 4 Entertainment. He's warm, witty and a little bit wild... We look forward to celebrating, over a sherry or two, his 100th episode of Chatty Man later in the year."

Catch Alan Carr: Chatty Man every Friday night from 10.00pm on Channel 4.
