To be clear, if you don't have a beard or indeed if you're a woman, the casting people for the upcoming 'Vikings' spinoff, 'Valhalla', still want to talk to you.

A casting call has gone out for people of all ages, ethnicity, and looks for the show, with two separate casting events taking place - one in Wicklow, and one in Dublin. The casting call for Dublin will take place on Monday, March 16th between 10AM and 6PM at the Liberty Hall Theatre in the SIPTU building. Meanwhile, the casting call for Wicklow will take place on Thursday, March 12th between 10AM and 6PM at the Parkview Hotel in Newtownmountkennedy, Co. Wicklow.

The casting call is looking for "bone thin, medium or broadly built, sporty types, tall, short, long & short hair, bald men & women, naturally coloured hair or be prepared to dye it, no beards and full length beards down to your knees, grunge looks, undercuts, punk styles, amputees, crooked or missing teeth." As well as this, if you have special skills, such as artisan skills, baking, sword and axe fighting, horse riding, whatever - they want to hear from you.

As always, you need to be over the age of 18, actually live in Ireland with a PPS number and visa, and be aware that the work is of course on a short-term / temporary basis. 'Valhalla', which is due to begin filming next month, will be a spin-off from the History Channel's long-running series and is set over 100 years after the events of 'Vikings'. Jeb Stuart, who wrote 'Die Hard' and 'The Fugitive', is set to act as showrunner and writer.
