The hit Prime Video series will draw to a close with its fourth season, but there's a silver lining with the news.

Action series 'Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan' will finish with season four, according to reports from Deadline.

The Prime Video series has enjoyed moderate success after two seasons, garnering positive reviews from both critics and home viewers. The John Krasinski-led action series is based on the Tom Clancy novels of the same name and sees the former US Marine begin his new career as an up-and-coming CIA analyst. The plot of the first two seasons has involved Ryan uncovering terrorist communications that have the potential for irreparable global destruction.

As well as starring as the main man, Krasinski has been executive producing. The creator, known for playing Jim Halpert in 'The US Office' and directing and starring in 'A Quiet Place', is believed to have only signed up for four seasons of the series.

However, 'Jack Ryan' ending with season four might not be the last we see of the franchise. Well, did the franchise ever really end? Lest we forget that Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine all played versions of the character on cinema screens in the past.

There are rumblings that a spin-off being produced by Amazon Studios, Paramount TV and Skydance TV is in the works. Ding Chavez, another character based in the series, and who has appeared in the 'Rainbow Six' video games, is believed to be the next action hero that'll get the live-action treatment. Michael Peña ('Narcos: Mexico' and 'Ant-Man') is said to be in the running for the lead role.

'Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan' is currently filming its fourth and final season. There's been no release date set for season three on Prime Video just yet, but the series is expected to reach its end by 2023.

John Krasinski is quite the hot property in Hollywood since helming and starring in 'A Quiet Place' alongside his wife Emily Blunt. He also gained a huge following during the pandemic in 2020 with his 'Some Good News' YouTube series.
