If you're bored of the classics and feel like something fresh, there are some fantastic new movies available to rent or stream from this weekend.

We've picked out a handful of the best new movies available from today.

We give their release dates and what platforms to find them on (since they're scattered to the winds a little) also.

We're kicking things off with the big one...

Godzilla vs Kong

Release date: Thursday, April 1st

Where: iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Microsoft Store and other platforms

It's the monster mash-up that everyone's been waiting for, especially after early reviews were full of acclaim. There's not to the story other than it sees the titular, legendary titans face off. Be prepared for epic action, impressive CGI and, so they're saying, a surprising amount of heart.

The Mauritanian

Release date: Thursday, April 1st

Where: Amazon Prime

Jodie Foster recently earned a Golden Globe for her turn in 'The Mauritanian' as real-life lawyer Nancy Hollander. She takes on the case of Mohamedou Ould Salahi (Tahir Rahim), who is being detained without trial at Guantanamo Bay, having been accused of being one of the persons responsible for 9/11. Benedict Cumberbatch, Shailene Woodley, and Zachary Levi co-star in the legal drama.

Minari

Release date: Friday, April 2nd

Where: Volta

Nominated for 6 Oscars, including Best Picture, 'Minari' is truly exquisite, and should be top of your list of new movies to watch this weekend. It follows a South Korean family as they try to make a new life for themselves in Arkansas during the 1980's. Read our 4.5/5 star review now to see just why it's so special.

Antelbellum

Release date: Friday, April 2nd

Where: Sky Cinema

While 'Antebellum' is based on a sharp, original, and thought-provoking concept, the execution of it is a tad underwhelming. Still, the mystery as to the connection between a best-selling author named Veronica, and a slave named Eden, will have you enthralled.

Concrete Cowboy

Release date: Friday, April 2nd

Where: Netflix

There's a familiarity to 'Concrete Cowboy' that makes it not the most remarkable movie of the year, but will undeniably give you warmth and a sense of comfort after viewing. Idris Elba and 'Stranger Things' star Caleb McLaughlin lead the cast. They play an estranged father and son who renew their relationship and spend time with the community of local urban cowboys.

Run

Release date: Friday, 2nd April

Where: Netflix

Horror fans will want to check out 'Run' this weekend. It reaches our shores through Netflix having previously earned great reviews following its debut in the US on streaming service Hulu. It stars Sarah Paulson and sees a homeschooled teenager begins to suspect her mother of keeping a dark secret.
