It will come as good news to the many that have spent hours scrolling through Prime Video's site that a massive redesign is on its way.

Amazon will launch their redesign with clearer emphasis on Amazon Originals, live programming and the streamer’s most-watched titles.

The project has been in the works for the last 18 months, according to the streaming giant. It will first roll out later this week on connected living room devices and Android devices worldwide.

Web and iOS users will have to wait a little bit longer, with an update due at a later date.

With the redesign, the home page includes an updated navigation menu, with easier access to live sports and events, similar to a TV guide. What's live and up next will be much clearer to the user.

Similarly to Netflix, there will also be a new feature on Prime - a top 10 carousel with most-viewed titles. There will also be other carousels with Prime Original content and exclusives.

Amazon said that there will be more focus on imagery to make the experience "less busy and overwhelming for our customers."

Prime Video is gearing up for the release of the 'Lord of the Rings' series 'The Rings of Power', which is set to compete with HBO and Sky's 'Game of Thrones' spinoff 'House of the Dragon' in September.
