The live-action TV series based on the video game franchise will wrap season one of filming this summer.

'Peaky Blinders' actor Charlie Murphy has revealed a lot of details about her upcoming role in the live-action 'Halo' TV series.

Murphy, who is from Wexford, played the role of Siobhan in 'Love/Hate' before taking on the character of Jessie Eden in 'Peaky Blinders'. In 'Halo', she will play a new role created for the TV series, a character known as Makee.

Speaking to Digital Spy about the character, the actor said: "It's obviously set on the game, but this a character that's been introduced for the TV series. There's not a lot that anyone will know about her. But that's quite exciting, I think, to wait for the reveal. She's a real character and a lot of fun to play.

Touching on how much more of the series remains to be filmed, as well as shooting a production mid-pandemic, she said: "We have a couple of months left.

"The production on this has been incredible. I don't know how they're managing to pull off filming during a pandemic to the scale that they're doing. It’s just kind of jaw-dropping. But we're managing to do it.

"Yeah, we've a bit to go. We had a hiatus, obviously, during the pandemic, and coming back to it, it feels like we're doing a load of TV series, and we're just on series two. That's what it feels like, because it's just been so long in the making.

"But it's good. We're seeing things coming together now, and episodes being roughly assembled. Yeah, it's in good shape."

Finally, she spoke about her excitement for people to see the series when it airs, saying: "Yeah, very set-heavy. The designs are just incredible. The costumes are insane. The special effects are going to be fantastic as well. It's just a beast of a show, but it's a lot of fun."

Alongside Murphy in the series, 'American Gods' actor Pablo Schreiber will play the lead role of Master Chief. Jen Taylor will reprise her role from the video game as Cortana, with Shabana Azmi as Admiral Margaret Parangosk and Yerin Ha as Kwan Ha.

New streaming service Paramount+ will have exclusive rights to the series, so we are unsure as to who will have the rights here in Ireland. Showtime will produce the series, which will be made up of nine episodes.

Although it was originally expected to land this year, due to all of the post-production work needed for the series, as well as production still ongoing until the summer, we should expect 'Halo' at some point in 2022.
