True Detective has clocked off from its Monday night spot but replacing it is this pretty exciting new drama written by the creator of The Wire. So you can't really get much more promising than that. Set back in 1980s New York, it follows a young mayor called Nick Wasicsko who finds himself at the heart of a racial controversy when a federal court rules that low-income homes must be built in the primarily white, middle class suburbs of the city. Based on a 1999 non-fiction book of the same name by New York Times writer Lisa Belkin, it stars Oscar Isaac, Alfred Molina, Winona Ryder and Carla Quevedo and Jim Belushi.
