Pig farmer, Jimmy Doherty, investigates the contents of supermarket food and takes a look at the science behind making mass-produced meals, beginning with breakfast ingredients. He questions why the most nutritious part of corn is removed from some cereals and why they have iron and vitamins added. He also checks the processes involved in making instant coffee, and investigates how a muddy root vegetable is turned into white sugar.
