First the plagues, and now the floods... In case you'd not already been informed, four of South County Dublin's top bathing spots have a swimming/divebombing ban in place thanks to test results showing high levels of E Coli. Sandymount Strand, Sandycove, White Rock and Killiney Beach have all been effected until further notice.

In an amazing case of timing, one of our hottest days forecast this summer will reportedly come to an abrupt close around 9pm tonight as rain storms move in. According to Met Eireann, there's also a risk of hail. Met.ie reports: "The heavy, thundery rain will extend northwards Thursday night to affect most if not all parts of the country with locally heavy falls and poor visibility."

Tomorrow is meant to be a bit pants, with a "severe weather warning" due to be issued for Saturday, with a risk of localised flooding throughout the country. If that makes sense...

Anyway, the moral of the story is, if you are near a beach not blighted by E Coli today, try get yerself down there if you can - and don't forget the sun screen.
