The coronavirus has people understandably on edge. And one of the biggest issues in the media right now is the false or inaccurate information surrounding it. John Oliver is here to give you the facts.

The TV host is renowned for giving monologues on the latest news on his show 'Last Week Tonight'. Given the coronavirus is all anyone is talking about, it makes sense that it's this week's topic.

Oliver utilises humour to great effect but also strives to be clear and accurate.

He looks at some of the craziest theories surrounding the virus, such as the belief that people can contract it from getting a package delivered from China; that people can contract it from eating Chinese food; or that you can protect yourself from it by gargling bleach or taking steroids.

He also looks at a very catchy song they've come up with in Vietnam for containing the virus. And he considers how the figure 2% is really a cause for concern.

And as is frequently the case with American talk show hosts, he looks at how their President Donald Trump is approaching the phenomenon. Spoiler alert: His attitudes towards it are misinformed...

The monologue is 20 minutes long but well worth your time.
