It was dutifully brought to our attention yesterday by del77_2000 under the comments section of our original article, but - have to admit - we found it hard to believe. Only in Ireland would a high-profile 'air-rage' case - presumably brought on by a bought of inebriation - be held in the basement of a bleedin' boozer. Just as well the World's media haven't got their eye on proceedings!... oh.

So why was Killaloe District Court convening in the basement of the Brian Boru pub? Well, apparently there was a courthouse but it had to be closed as it was not longer 'fit for purpose.' Sittings of the court then moved to a function room the local hotel - which then closed down. Therefore, the next port of call was the local watering hole, which has a room in the basement, and a sign outside that reads 'Eat, party and celebrate like a king.'

No wonder Judge Patrick Durcan was keen to defer the case to Ennis District Court later this morning, hah?

Points that were addressed during yesterday's sitting included the amount of bail Lauren would pay, that being €2,500. Her representative did initially offer €800 but that was rejected.

She's waking up this morning in the Oakwood Arms Hotel in Shannon. Mornin' Jenny!
