Given she reportedly said "Can you say that in English please?" to her arresting Garda, one can only begin to imagine how obnoxious she was on the flight in question...

In case you've not already been introduced to Jenny Lauren today, she's a jewellery designer (whose necklaces retail for a mere $5,000) who just so happens to be Ralph Lauren's niece. She got herself engaged in a bit of an air rage incident on board a Delta Airlines flight from New York, resulting in an emergency landing in Shannon. The flight, which was bound for Barcelona, made it's unscheduled stop at lunchtime yesterday, whereupon Lauren was slapped with three separate charges, under the 1973 Air Navigation and Transport Act, and held in custody by Gardai overnight.

The Daily Mail reports that "Gardai took witness statements from five Delta flight crew as well as the captain."

There's been no major details regarding the incidents as yet - apart from drink being involved. Considering her resulting actions warranted an emergency landing, one can assume she didn't just attempt to relieve herself with the aid of a water bottle...

The Independent have elaborated on the charges, saying Lauren must have been "intoxicated to such an extent as would give rise to a reasonable apprehension that she might endanger herself or another person on board the aircraft. She was further charged with engaging in behaviour likely to cause serious offence or annoyance to any person on board the aircraft, having been requested by a member of the crew of the aircraft to cease such behaviour. Ms Lauren was also charged with a breach of the peace by engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour."

Judge Patrick Durcan adjourned the case until tomorrow at Ennis District Court.
