After posting a photo of him posing with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Conor McGregor's been getting quite a lot of stick online.
The Instagram post, which has 1.2 million likes since it was posted an hour ago, explains that McGregor was invited to the World Cup final as a guest of Putin. In his post, McGregor described Putin as "one of the greatest leaders of our time and I was honored to attend such a landmark event alongside him."
Here's the post in question.
Needless to say, McGregor's post has drawn a lot of ire from a lot of people.

You may be my favorite fighter of all time but no,man, Putin is not a great leader. Unless you consider leading by fear and murder is considered great. Then yeah I guess he's great at murder.

Just for context here, Putin has been criticised by numerous human rights organisations for everything from LGBT persecution to annexing a region of Ukraine - and, of course, being involved with the plot to see Donald Trump elected as US President.
And Conor McGregor, y'know, poses with the guy and calls him a great leader. Not ideal, in fairness.
