Regarding the rumours that her daughter enjoyed a (not so secret) liaison with Chris Brown last weekend in Trump International Hotel, Monica Fenty decided to give Ronald (the usual family spokesperson) the day off and chimed in with this lot:

"I'm devastated, but what can I do? Rihanna is her own woman with her own mind (?) and very, very independent (/THICK). We love her but can't stand to see her play Russian roulette with her life. Chris has a bizarre power over her. She still loves him and he knows it. In her eyes, he's a god. Even after all this time, and even after what he did, it's not diminished."

Lord, if her parents are glorifying this scenario to the level of "love", no wonder Rihanna's slightly unhinged in matters of the loins. Love is something that two people share *twirls*; otherwise it's simply an infatuation, largely based on a foundation of rampant insecurity.

Elsewhere, while Rihanna is subtly following the boy she's barred from seeing around New York, Brown's management is upping operation "PLEASE BUY MY RECORDS" to Larry King level.

According to RadarOnline: "The singer will be formally sentenced (tomorrow) Wednesday, August 5 and sources tell RadarOnline.com that he will most likely appear on Larry King Live after that. Larry King Live is the first choice of Brown's handlers... Brown's team believes the singer will be able to get his apology across without facing brutal questioning." Little chance of Larry lashing Chris out of it with one of his suspenders, then. Disappointing.

It's the next logical step after an ill-received YouTube apology. If King doesn't work, it's on to the holy grail. OOOooooOooooPRAH.
