It seems kind of when you think about it, but there aren't that many animated movies based on Santa Claus.

Sure, there's plenty of live-action ones - 'The Santa Clause', 'Santa Claus: The Movie', 'The Christmas Chronicles', 'Santa's Slay' (that one was a horror with professional wrestler Bill Goldberg as a demonic Santa) - but animated movies have curiously left out Santa Claus.

Whatever the reason, Netflix are going at it with 'Klaus', an upcoming animated movie that sees JK Simmons as "Klaus", a heavily bearded man who lives alone outside a sleepy Arctic village where people are generally unhappy and refuse to talk to one another. Jasper, voiced by Jason Schwartzman, figures out that "Klaus" is really Santa Claus and then goes out of his way to get back to work, even offering to deliver his toys for free.

Others in the voice cast include Joan Cusack, Rashida Jones, Norm Macdonald, Will Sasso and is Netflix's first swing at making an original animated movie. 'Klaus' hits Netflix on November 15th, and will also be in cinemas for a short period on November 8th.

Here's the trailer.
