Netflix has announced two huge Irish stars will be joining the gritty drama series, which has already kicked off production in London.

Barry Keoghan and Brian Gleeson will be joining the cast of 'Top Boy' season three, which is a hit drama series currently streaming on Netflix.

The two stars will join Ashley Walters, Kane Robinson, Simbi Ajikawo, Jasmine Jobson, Saffron Hocking and Araloyin Oshunremi for the final season of the gritty and emotional series. Production on the final chapter has already begun in London.

The final season will see Barry Keoghan and Brian Gleeson play new characters, Jonny and Tadgh. Keoghan has been enjoying a meteoric rise to fame these past few years, joining the MCU in 'Eternals' as well as playing a mysterious prisoner in 'The Batman'. Gleeson has also had a steady rise in screentime, starring in 'Peaky Blinders', 'Frank of Ireland' and the upcoming Apple TV+ comedy 'Bad Sisters', written by Sharon Horgan.

Channel 4 first released a version of 'Top Boy' in 2011, which ran for two seasons. Netflix then picked up the story once again in 2019, due to Drake having an interest in continuing the story, and have released 18 follow-up episodes across two seasons so far. This final season will consist of six episodes.

The show is created and written by Ronan Bennett, who was raised in Northern Ireland. For those unfamiliar with 'Top Boy', it's set in a fictional estate in Hackney, London, and centres around the various crime that goes on between the families.
