Last year, the Hollywood duo broke new ground in their careers when they decided to partner up and buy a football club in Wales.
A docu-series about the ups and downs of club ownership and its effect on the community airs next year. A brand new trailer released today, featuring a mock version of the 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' cast, in which McElhenney stars as Mac.
"Did I approve a tie-in for our show and 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia?" asks a bemused Reynolds to McElhenney in the short trailer which also stars the hit FX series cast.
The 40 second promo doesn't feature any footage of the actual show. But at least we learnt what 'shut up, bird' is in Welsh.
Announcing the series back in May, Nick Grad, president of original programming at FX Entertainment, said: "Rob McElhenney has been an all star on Team FX for years and now has partnered with the formidable Ryan Reynolds to bring glory to the 'Red Dragons' in the docuseries, 'Welcome To Wrexham'.
"Rob and Ryan will take fans inside the sport as never before, pairing their genuine love for the game with the welcome challenge of building on the heritage of this club."
While there is no specific release date for the docu-series yet, it will air in 2022 on Hulu.
McElhenney recently returned to 'It's Always Sunny' for its fifteenth season. It marked the show as the longest running live-action sitcom in US television history.
