Nicki Minaj has entered the Little Mix fray, following Jesy Nelson being accused of "blackfishing" in her first solo music video.

Last Friday, 'Boyz', Jesy Nelson's first solo single, was released with the accompanying music video alongside it. The track sees the ex-Little Mix member collaborate with Nicki Minaj, who previously featured on the group's 2018 single 'Woman Like Me'.

Following the track's release, all of Nelson's previous Little Mix members Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards, and Jade Thirlwall unfollowed their former colleague on Instagram. The reason is believed to be because Nelson has been accused of "blackfishing" by some fans, as well as one of her former group members.

According to leaked messages Pinnock wrote to an influencer, @nohun_, she claims that Nelson was a "black fish", followed by saying she "blocked us", "cut us off" and she is a "horrible person". The influencer posted the messages onto his Instagram Story.

During an IGTV live stream on Monday evening, Jesy Nelson and Nicki Minaj were discussing their new collaboration when the Little Mix topic surfaced towards the end of the hour-long stream.

Nelson admitted that one of her group members addressed Blackfishing with her on the set of 'Sweet Melody', the final music video she filmed in the group before announcing her departure. Nelson said: "It’s just hard for me because I was in a group with two women of colour for nine years and it was never brought up to me up until the last music video when she messaged me and said 'Jesy, I just want to make you aware'…"

Minaj, who was criticising Nelson's ex-group members, didn't hold back in her opinion of this exchange between both sides: "Take them text messages and shove it up your f*cking ass, because when you do clown shit I got to treat you and talk to you like you a clown.

"If you was in this woman’s group and you ain’t talk about this shit for 10 years and as soon as you see she got a video coming out with Nicki Minaj and Puffy, now you sending text messages and all this sh*t. Print those text messages out, bust your ass open and shove them up your motherf*cking ass.

"Stop trying to hurt people and kill people’s lives and careers, this is the way people feed their families. Stop – if you want a solo career, baby girl, just say that.

"Only jealous people do things like this. It makes you a big jealous bozo. I love you guys but please don’t do this. Let these people be miserable all by themselves."

The full live stream is below, with Nicki Minaj and Jesy Nelson talking about the text messages around the 44 minutes mark.

Minaj then posted a Tweet, calling Leigh-Anne Pinnock "JeLeigh", writing: "JeLeigh btchs actin real messy. ~ if you know someone has been suicidal from bullying in the past, why try to get a bunch of ppl to bully them again about smthng else, on an even bigger scale? Shame on you— that’s rlly sad. You don’t know what ppl can deal with. [Hands together emoji] Mental Health."

In a recent interview, Jesy Nelson revealed that she was "really, truly unhappy" while she was in Little Mix for 10 years.
