In case you weren't aware, there has been an ongoing feud between rappers Drake and Pusha T that has taken a turn for the ugly in recent days.
With Pusha T's new album art for 'Daytona' creating its own headlines for using a picture of Whitney Houston's drug-strewn bathroom counter, the artwork for his new single (which disses his rival) 'The Story of Adidon' proved equally controversial - largely because it featured a photo of Drake in blackface paint dating from 2007.
Please stop referring to this picture as “artwork”...I’m not an internet baby, I don’t edit images...this is a REAL picture...these are his truths, see for yourself https://t.co/gd6vRS3HM8 pic.twitter.com/2el58HEZ8F

The Canadian rapper was also sporting a t-shirt and hoodie featuring the notorious Jim Crow caricature, which its designers Too Black Guys have released their own statement on:
here’s Too Black Guys, the Canadian streetwear brand Drake is wearing in the blackface photos, on those blackface photos... pic.twitter.com/IJ5SzizaSz

Now, Drake himself has come out and explained the photo, which he says was from a period when he was an actor and "working on a project that was about young black actors struggling to get roles, being stereotyped and type cast. The photos represented how African Americans were once wrongfully portrayed in entertainment."

However, his explanation has divided fans...
Drake’s response is so sketch. You’re a black actor so you put on black face to portray a black actor? Boy if you don’t stop with that bullshit. pic.twitter.com/sQ90dzT4YE

I knew Drake’s statement would be just that. I’m not sitting here thinking that man would put on blackface a a joke or to entertain. People will either accept the explanation or not. It doesn’t bother me.

I figured that's what Drake's picture was about but even a mature response ain't really gonna change shit.
That being said I find it interesting he seems so anti addressing racial issues NOW but was making a statement in 2007 about racism in the industry.

Don’t matter what Drake explanation was... The people rockin with him was gone accept it... and the people who don’t like him, wasn’t.
