Whitney Houston's "nightmare" comeback tour has shown little sign of improvement following a "disastrous" London O2 show that saw many fans walking out of the performance.
According to the Daily Mail, the 46-year-old singer failed to hit the high notes or finish many of her songs throughout the show. Again.
Mumbling into the mic, Whitney informed the remaining fans: "She don't want to come, my soprano friend. Sometimes the old girl sings, but not tonight. I want to do it, but she doesn't want to. She's getting a little... temperamental, even."
The singer claims to be battling a respiratory infection but hundreds of fans who left the concert early were less than sympathetic: "I remember her 20 years ago. She's not a patch on what she was," one fan told the Mail. Another one, who'd forked over 75 quid for the experience said: "I think we should be offered our money back. It was a shambolic performance."
Listen, the only person truly to blame here is Whitney's agent (Nicole David of William Morris agency)... Or her manager (Andrew McManus)... Or her record company (specifically Clive Davis of Arista)... Or the promoters who agreed to all this... Or whoever's brainchild touring the "soprano" out of her was... Not Whitney. She was told she could do this by people she trusted. People who are still telling her she can do it. And, at times, she can.
To say "I remember her 20 years ago. She's not a patch on what she was" is such an idiotic statement. Let's not forget, in those twenty years, she's been known to lock herself in bathroom for days smoking coke ("not crack. Crack is whack!"), which is slightly ironic as she was also reputed to be using adult nappies at the time. The fact that she's even in the same realm of reality is a massive accomplishment. In short, she's come a long way, so give her a break. In hindsight, perhaps an extensive world tour wasn't the best idea... perhaps two or three "Exclusive One Off Dates!" would've been infinitely better, especially for future album sales, but - alas - greed set in.
Hey, at least she's trying.
