The singer/songwriter and entrepreneur announced that his tenth studio album is only a matter of hours from release.

'Donda', the new album from Kanye West, will be released this Friday, July 23. Announced last night in a Beats by Dre advert during Game Six of the NBA Finals, the first track off the album also debuted.

Featuring American track and field sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson, the advert was scored and edited by Kanye West, featuring his new song 'No Child Left Behind'. 21-year-old Richardson was recently suspended from the US Olympics’ Team after testing positive for marijuana.

'Donda' will be the performer's first solo album since 'Jesus Is King', his 2019 gospel album which earned him a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. From what we hear of the one-minute snippet of his new tracks, it appears Kanye West will be returning to his previous hip hop and experimental roots, although anything is possible at this stage.

As you can also see, Kanye West is back on Instagram. Following a two year hiatus, during which time he occupied his time with running for US Presidency, the artist uploaded the video of his new song. Just before that, he also uploaded pictures of him wearing gold necklaces with the names of his children.

Interestingly, Kanye is only following one person on his social media account - Kim Kardashian. Currently in the middle of a divorce, the rapper-turned fashion designer reportedly wants to "keep things amicable with Kim so the kids can be happy". The couple has four children together - North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.

'Donda' is named after West’s late mother, Donda West, who died after surgery done wrong in 2007. West is holding a listening event of the new album in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday evening ahead. ofits release this Friday.
