Admittedly, taking a side in a spat between Jedward and Piers Morgan might be like asking you to choose whether you'd like to be boiled or fried alive.

However, as a bystander, watching both camps sparring is certainly a welcome distraction from doomscrolling.

The Irish twins, who have made a point of being extremely politically correct on social media in recent times, riled the former 'Good Morning Britain' host with a recent tweet. Referencing the vigil for Sarah Everard in London at the weekend - where police were guarding a statue of the former Prime Minister - it read: "Get that Winston Churchill statue and f**k it into Piers Morgan’s back garden it has no place in today’s society,"

In response, Morgan - who quit GMB in a huff last week, after he was called out by co-host Alex Beresford - called the 29-year-olds "talentless disrespectful clowns" and referenced their "gormless tuneless imbecility."

Clearly enjoying the attention, Jedward continued to retweet their own tweets, taking a random potshot at Labour leader Keir Starmer by saying "Don’t really know who you are @Keir_Starmer but get it together your actions are kinda pointless!" and suggesting that Prince Andrew "needs to be locked up!"

They continued to bait Morgan, too, but he hasn't risen to it.

Must be a slow week in the studio.
